Atlantic Salmon start their summer migration upstream by late June and usually reach the St. Paul camp by early July. Consequently, our season runs from early July to mid-September when the salmon season legally closes in Quebec. The salmon that run the St. Paul River average in weight from four lbs (grilse) to more than twenty pounds. Fly-fishing is the only permitted angling method for salmon in Quebec.
Most salmon runs on the St. Paul are easily waded, making the fishing especially pleasurable. For those who prefer it, fishing from a small boat can be easily arranged; the Club is equipped with canoes powered by small outboard motors.
Each guide is responsible for a pair of anglers and is equipped accordingly (nets, trailers, and boat equipment). Our guides are extremely knowledgeable in the tricks and quirks of the river, and will assist you in finding the best water to fish each day. They can also provide a delicious shore lunch of salmon if you so desire.
