Dear Angling Friends,

Another season has come and gone. The fishing was a bit tougher than the last 2 sesons but overall not a bad year. The numbers of grilse were much less than usual but more large fish seemed to make up the difference. This has been the best season ever for large fish (10 lbs. and over) hooked and landed.

The fish were a bit later coming into the river as well this past season, possibly due to the heavy ice conditions in the straits and along the Labrador coast in mid to late May. With higher water late June and most of July, the usual early pools were very high and the fish could spread out into the larger pools up river.

Once again we would like to thank everyone for their continued support and look forward to many more years of the great friendships we have established over the years. We also pledge to make your fishing experience and stay at the camp as good or better.

As in the last 3 seasons, we will continue using Saturday as changeover day.

  1. 100% Catch & Release is 100% supported by all and will continue to be mandatory.
  2. The daily limit per Angler is four (4) fish (unless the government sets lower limits).

As stated in previous newsletters, rates for Week 1 through 6 will become equal . This will take place for the 2019 season. Week 0 will rise as well, but will stay a bit lower as it drops back into June over time.
